We recently worked with customers on the renovation of the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner and living area in their stunning Victorian property in Camberley, Surrey. So, we were delighted to be able to commission a photoshoot of the finished interiors, which appeared in a large ‘Escape to the country’ feature in KBB magazine!
As their first renovation project, Sian and Chris fell in love with this stunning home, which boasts five bedrooms and substantial outside space, including a swimming pool. While the exterior was modernized by repainting the traditional wooden beams and replacing the windows, they significantly remodeled the inside to create a spacious open-plan family home.
The main aim of the project was to create an open-plan kitchen/diner that would be perfect for both parties and family time, with a traditional Cotswold country cottage feel. While big fans of Victorian properties, Sian and Chris also love the warmth and homely feel of Cotswold homes, so wanted to find a stylish way of bringing the two together.
“For us, despite the house being quite grand outside, we wanted it to feel inviting and informal as soon as you entered the hallway,” says Sian. “We trawled the internet for Cotswold-inspired flooring and Beswickstone stood out immediately with its comprehensive range of wood, stone, and tiled floors, which epitomized the look we wanted to achieve.”
Through the décor, Sian and Chris were able to create zoned areas, with wood paneling and open-brick walls. They chose limestone tiles from our beautiful tumbled limestone flooring collection for the dining room and gave the kitchen area a more contemporary feel with our gorgeous hand scraped engineered oak flooring. The flooring choices create definition, with the limestone floor tiles marrying with the stone used for the outside patio and pool area.
