Coffee is a classic, unadulterated, select grade, oak floor with beautifully highlighted grain and knots. Natural oak tones combine in this hard-waxed oak engineered floor to create a classic & stylish oak floor that will suit any period of property and style of decor. Coffee takes its name from the coffee-coloured highlighted grain in this select grade oak which elevates the contemporary feel of this stunning oak floor making it a popular choice for renovations and new-builds.

Coffee oak plank is a warm, pre-finished oak full of charm, character & a subtle rusticity and has been hard-waxed oiled to create a hard-wearing finish with a classic natural oak look. Coffee engineered oak flooring comes in beautiful wide 19cm/190mm boards: 1900mm (L) x 190mm (W) x 15/4mm (D). This engineered oak floor has a 4mm solid oak surface with a 11mm back. Bevelled on all four sides, the hard-waxed oak flooring boards, some of which have been machined into two sections for a more traditional look, fit together via tongue and groove. 25% of 1900mm long planks are 1500-400mm short board - please see pack size under specification tab for more information.

Grade SELECT GRADE: Select grade wood is often referred to as ABC grade. This grade typically consists of a mix of near Prime boards (no knots or checks) with other boards that contain knots and checks of a limited size similar to Classic grade but less than Natural grade. There will be a degree of colour variation from heartwood and sapwood as well as some filled elements which will compliment the natural character of the oak.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Floating Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
