This gorgeous engineered oak herringbone flooring has been brushed and smoked to reveal the natural characteristics of the stunning rustic grade timber which includes various tones, knots and grains. It has then been finished with natural oil to not only highlight the dark wood floor’s rustic charm but also add strength and longevity. Boasting lovely warm hues ranging from honey through to rich tobacco, this dark almost warm-chestnut coloured oak parquet is a sumptuous floor – full of intrigue, delight and romance! This floor is perfect for that adult haven hide-away, be it a smallish snug or a large living room. It makes a grand statement in libraries, reading rooms and studies where a bit of gravitas goes a long way. Plank size is 600mm (L) x 125mm (W) x 20mm (D).

Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
Installation Points | Engineered Herringbone Oak Flooring cannot be floated over an underlay. The planks must be solidly attached (Glue-down method) to the sub-floor using an appropriate adhesive. |
Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
Cleaning | The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection. |
