Antiqued and aged Hampton Oak Colour no. 10 engineered oak flooring is a glorious combination of chestnut, warm honey and tobacco tones all rolled into a truly sublime, dark oak floor.

If your project demands a natural hardwood floor of depth and gravitas, then surely our deep smoked & brushed Hampton no. 10 oak board must be on your wishlist. This russet coloured oak flooring is chock full of classic rustic oak traits including characterful knots & cleaves and underdoes multiple handworking processes to create a beautiful undulating feel to the floor accented by timeworn depressions. The warm henna hues of this gorgeous oak is created by fuming or smoking each plank for a long time, hence the Deep Smoked part of the name. Due to the natural deviation in the sap content of each plank, this smoking process produces a wider tonal variation, which certainly adds tonnes more interest & charm to this aged oak flooring. Every board also undergoes a mechanical brushing highlighting the natural ebb and flow of the oak grain revealing an oak floor of style & intrinsic beauty. Finished with an UV oil to not only highlight the dark wood floor’s rustic charm but also add strength and longevity, Hampton Oak Colour no. 10 deep smoked oak flooring must be considered.

These dark oak floors come in both 19cm wide and 22cm wide planks. For a more traditional look, two planks from each pack are machined into two sections and all planks are bevelled on four sides to fit neatly together via tongue and groove. 25% of 2200mm long planks are 1800-400mm short board & 25% of 1900mm long planks are 1500-400mm short board - please see pack size under specification tab for more information.

Design Tip: The best wall pairings for these deeper, ambered coloured floors are painted with cool undertones such as a cool light blue or grey. These colors will balance out the warm tone of the floor and add depth to the room.

Finishing Oil LOBA UV Oiled
Structural Board 20mm Format This is a 20mm thick board so can be laid directly on joists using an appropriate fixing mechanism.
Glue-Down We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply.
Floating Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product.
Blending Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended.
