As if it has survived tough times, Yale Healey sings with the aesthetic beauty of aging! With its reclaimed, weathered look this gorgeous oak flooring evokes classic hardwood floors of the past, that have been heavily used but not quite abused. The wonderfully soft golden oak colour palette provides a natural oak base that makes for flexible interior styling and design, keep it simple with creams and warm earth shades. This is a beautiful oak floor to which you can apply your own stamp through considered interior design and transform into an absolute masterpiece.These beautifully weathered and then hand-aged & hand-antiqued engineered oak boards draw on artisanal hand-working techniques to create a stunning flooring effect. Warm, golden oak colours are accentuated by the synergy of all the different aging techniques applied and the use of a hardwax oil to finish the oak solidifies the attractive, reclaimed or weathered oak aesthetic. Natural imperfections in the oak are accentuated through the weathering process, creating a charming effect and the hand work on individual planks generates a stunning authenticity. Pair our stunning Yale Healey with antique furniture to create a traditional style, effortlessly constructing a classically chic environment.
Design Tip: With its golden oak tones, Yale Highbury is best complemented with paint colours that offer a contrast to counterbalance the golden tone, or with soft neutrals that will harmonize with the warmth of the colour. Good options include off-whites, warm greiges and muted greens or blues.
Yale Healey oak floor is available in 2.0cm (20mm) thick engineered boards, 220cm in length and 24cm wide (2200mm x 240mm) & a unique mixed width option – a super-rustic, super-wide, reclaimed oak looking floor. This engineered wood flooring has individually distressed, weathered & antiqued face and edges and fits together via tongue & groove. More installation information can be found under the specification tab. this is a 20mm thick engineered oak flooring with a 14mm ply back and 6mm solid oak surface.

PANEL SAMPLE: 4x 50cm x full width planks for you to put together in your home making a panel sample of 50cm x 96cm or 50cm x 82cm to get a good appreciation of the oak flooring - just £15inc P&P. This £15 will be credited against any future order of Yale Highbury Engineered Oak flooring. PLEASE confirm which plank format you want to receive in the instructions at checkout box. | Weathered Boards | These ‘weathered’ reclaimed look floorboards have been precisely engineered to suit contemporary installations while maximising their antique charm. Through the engineering process, each board of Yale is made stable, durable and appropriate for installation in modern build environments, eliminating the risk of shrinkage or warping over time. There may be the occasional small void between the oak layer and the base ply which appears where the board has morphed as a result of the unique repurposed look board reaction to the stabilisation process. This is not a defect in the construction of the engineered plank, but a side-effect of the weathering & drying techniques used to fully realise the beauty of the antique wood look. It is these same weathering & drying techniques that produce the wonderful undulating, aged & cracked appearance in the face of the oak so to obtain this rustic, reclaimed appearance but with modern durability, the above is unavoidable, in other words you can’t have one without the other. |

| Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
| Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
| Floating | Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product. |
| Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
