If you are looking for a beautiful golden honeyed coloured outdoor stone flag then look no further than our gorgeous Castile Heavy tumbled external limestone. In the same 60cm x random length format to complement our best-selling Castile Heavy tumbled indoor tile, these flags are 3cm (30mm) thick and finished with an anti-slip finish to provide grip under foot.
A wonderful warm palette of sand, beige, cream & honey combine to make Castile an immensely attractive limestone – very similar in colour & look to Box Hill Bath Stone. Think pale, west country stone, tinged with darker orange & merigold tones all set off with an abundance of minute, pale lead-coloured fossils, shells & quartz. Unlike UK quarried stone however, Castile is an extremely hard & tough limestone, making it a more resilient choice, and at a small fraction of the price of UK stone what is not to love?!
Every flag in our Castile Heavy outdoor limestone is heavily tumbled or aged, creating an authentic time-trodden edge and a textured surface, very traditional in character. The mixed lengths in this stone run from 70cm through to 100cm in 10cm increments, creating a classic pattern, the scale of which won’t be lost in outdoor schemes and landscaping projects.
Also available are our Castile outdoor finish treads (steps) – also popular as coping stones. 100cm long x 35cm deep x 5cm thick with the front edge finished with a bullnose profile. Priced per piece at £45each +VAT and delivery. PLEASE NOTE: STEP TREADS are sold PER STEP, so the price above (£45.00+VAT) is for one 100cm x 35cm tread and NOT per sqm. Just enter the total number of steps you require into the white box labelled SQM (next to the 'Prices include VAT' box) to add correctly to your shopping cart.

Postal samples ARE NOT available for our 5cm thick step treads, the colour and finish is identical to the outdoor flagstone (within the vagaries of a natural product).

| Step Tread | Unlike flagstones, Step Treads are sold per piece. Castile step tread is 100cm long with one length finished in a bullnose (rounded) edge, the step is 35cm deep (front to back) and 5cm thick. Our step treads can be used internally and externally and are often used as coping stones too. |
| Courtyard Cobbles | Our Castile courtyard cobbles are 15cm wide by mixed lengths and are 3cm (30mm) thick. We recommend using a slurry primer (aka Bond bridges or bond coats) to improve adhesion of the cobbles to the mortar bed. |

| Installation Points | This is a 30mm thick flag so can be laid directly onto an MOT type 1 external base or similar or onto a concrete/screed base. If installing onto MOT then a wet sand & cement mortar mix must be used with the addition of SBR. NB: white Portland cement must be used in place of standard grey cement. If installing onto concrete/screed a good quality external grade white tile adhesive can be used. |
