Let our delightful Saw Mill oak flooring bring a classically-inspired touch to your interior. With a character-packed textured wooden finish, it combines the natural allure of timber with the durability and ease of a hardwaxed finished oak floor. The softly antiqued edges and lighter oak palette create an opulent yet slightly rustic feel. Lay these gorgeous oak planks on the floor of a traditional countryside living room – or use as a sleek backdrop to a sophisticated modern scheme.
This wonderful lightly smoked engineered oak just exudes charm. Saw Mill aged oak flooring contains beautiful inherent oak characteristics elevated by the artisanal hand-antiquing. From attractive knots, small cleaves and fabulous tonal differences between the planks, this is a handsome oak floor. Each board is gently aged by hand to produce a timeless looking oak board with a soft-worn edge, giving a fabulous, gently worn-in look and feel. Saw Mill undergoes further hand-finishing to produce a subtle but exceedingly attractive cross sawn marking to the floor adding even more character & interest.
The neutral pale to medium oak colours of Saw Mill is a fabulous base to build your interior scheme upon allowing numerous design directions from cool, calm and collected through to charm & sophistication.
Design Tip: The lighter oak tones of Saw Mill pair beautifully with paler shades of wall paint. Off-white, grey, taupe & greige tones are the order of the day. Inject colour in your choice of furnishings, from British racing green chairs to sumptuous olive wood tables, don’t be timid!

Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. |
Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
Floating | Glue-down method is not appropriate for sub-floors that are damp, are mixed i.e. timber subfloor combined with concrete/screed sub-floor or have specific requirements such as acoustic deadening. With sub-floors of this type the Floating installation method will likely be proposed by your installer. The boards are not fixed to the sub-floor but instead uses the weight of the floor itself to keep them in place, usually with the use of an underlay between the sub-floor and boards. The tongue & groove would normally be glued in a floating installation. NB: Beswick stone do not provide underlay, glue or any other wood installation product. |
Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
Cleaning | The Bona Premium Spray Mop for Oiled Wood Floor is the easiest and most effective way of cleaning oiled wood floors in the home. Simply spray and wipe the floor clean. It cleans and nourishes your oiled wood floor while providing extra protection. |
