Avignon was our first ever limestone, the first non-travertine stone we ever imported. It is a gorgeous limestone evidenced by the fact it is still on our menu after all these years! Massively popular in all its various formats Avignon flagstone is pretty much the quintessential English looking limestone but with a toughness & price tag that English quarried stones can’t match. Our Avignon Stone Step treads works with all our Avignon floors, from the original Heavy Tumbled finish flag, through the numerous Soft Tumbled finishes to the dedicated 3cm (30mm) thick external format.

INDOOR STEPS: Each step is 100cm (1000mm) wide, 45cm (450mm) deep & come in 3 different thickness options: 4cm (40mm), 3cm (30mm) and 2cm (20mm). The front edge is finished with a hand-honed bullnose profile whilst the sides and rear are sawn. The surface of each step is a light brushed finish identical to that of the soft tumbled internal flagstone format. Links to all these products are at the bottom of the page.

OUTDOOR STEP: Each step is 100cm (1000mm) wide, 35cm (350mm) deep & 5cm (50mm) thick. The front edge is finished with a hand-honed bullnose profile whilst the sides and rear are sawn. The surface of each step is a high-grip finish identical to that of the external flagstone format and works with all internal formats too if you desire a thicker, gripier step than our indoor version. Postal samples are not available for this product due to its weight & thickness. The colour and finish of the indoor step is identical to the soft tumbled indoor flagstone and the 5cm is identical to the external flagstone - both of which samples can be ordered for.

Indoor Step Tread	Unlike flagstones, Indoor Step Treads are sold per piece. Our indoor Avignon step tread is 100cm long with one length finished in a bullnose (rounded) edge, the step is 45cm deep (front to back) and is either 4cm, 3cm or 2cm thick. The surface finish is the same as the internal flagstones i.e. light brushed surface
Indoor Outdoor Step Tread	Unlike flagstones, Step Treads are sold per piece. Our indoor/outdoor Avignon step tread is 100cm long with one length finished in a bullnose (rounded) edge, the step is 35cm deep (front to back) and is 5cm thick. Our step treads can be used internally and externally and are often used as coping stones too. The surface finish is the same as the external flagstone i.e. high-grip external grade surface

Internal Installation Points	These 40mm/30mm/20mm thick stone steps can be laid directly onto a concrete/screed base. When installing onto concrete/screed a good quality flexible grade white tile adhesive can be used.
External Installation Points	These 50mm thick stone step so can be laid directly onto an MOT type 1 external base or similar or onto a concrete/screed base. If installing onto MOT then a wet sand & cement mortar mix must be used with the addition of SBR. NB: white Portland cement must be used in place of standard grey cement. If installing onto concrete/screed a good quality external grade white tile adhesive can be used.
