Based on the renowned Calacatta Gold Italian marble quarried in the mountains of Carrara, Italy, Florence is an extravagant take on this historic marble. By concentrating on the areas within the marble that show the greatest of abundance of dramatic bronze and grey veining, our Italian partners have produced a marble effect tile where every single slab is a mesmerising work of art. Available in 4 different tile sizes & two fabulous mosaics in a natural matte finish, Florence presents an uninhibited choice for your interior scheme. Choose the ultra-modern large rectangular tile size of 120cm x 60cm which, of course, makes fabulous large open plan floor areas but also creates the most dramatic wall cladding - being on the vertical plane it is just like viewing a whole wall of art – simply staggering. The rectangular 60cm x 30cm tile format and the classic 60cm x 60cm square tile present versatile choices, especially for bathrooms. Accent with the lovely slimline brick tile or one of the mosaics to add further pep. The rectangular tiles can be tiled in many different tiling styles to positively impact the shape & size of a room. From contemporary stacked portrait, stacked landscape or more traditional off-set brick-bond, this tile size proffers many solutions.

| Mosaic | Unlike tiles Mosaics are sold per sheet. Florence Hexagon Porcelain Mosaic is supplied on a mesh-backed sheet measuring approximately 30cm x 30cm which can be cut using a stanley knife. Each sheet is made up of 30number individual hexagons, 6rows high by 5rows wide. Florence 5x5 Mosaic is also mesh-backed. This is rectified porcelain suitable for use on walls and floors. Due to mosaic production methods, slight shade and dimensional variation is to be expected within the mosaic sheet. |

| Installation Points | Large format porcelain tiles should be installed with a good quality S1 grade flexible adhesive and a fine grain grout. For large tiles it is strongly recommended that levelling clips are used and joints should be staggered by a maximum of 30% of the length of the tile AKA staggered brick bond. |
| Mosaic Installation | Mosaics can be a challenge to install. The mesh backing makes it hard to get even pressure when pressing into adhesive so you end up with an uneven surface and, when used against normal tiles, lipping can occur for this reason too. We recommend the use of Mosaic Mesh Tile Backer Sheets which makes mosaic installation MUCH easier. These are available from most DIY sheds. |
| Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our ‘natural’ look porcelain products, no different to what you would see in real stone or timber. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As per laying real stone/timber a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
