Raj Grey cobblestone is produced from ultra tough limestone which makes them an excellent choice for outdoor areas that demand a flooring solution that is tough underfoot yet is good to look at too. Our cobbles can be used as the sole material in your scheme or combined with their matching flagstone and steps to create a fully cohesive garden design.
Incorporating both our 10x10cm and 15x15cm Raj Grey cobbles into a single mixed width pattern gives you or your landscape designer an exciting cobblestone option to consider. This pairing brings in the strengths of a single size - cohesion & symmetry - coupled with the design interest of alternating rows breaking up the uniformity of using just a single size & elevates the historical feel of these limestone cobbles.
Using our Raj Grey cobbles to pave a terrace, patio or courtyard produces a timeless, old-world charm packed with rustic elegance. Whether it’s a working garden full of flora or your de facto summer party space, these fabulously rugged cobbles will enhance, perform and just look spectacularly good – rain or shine.
Combining the 4inch and 6inch cobbles into alternate rows brings an extra dimension to your design. Working off of each other, complementing & bringing extra emphasis on the square-size difference, this pattern pushes the contemporary boundaries of the one-size cobble. Breaking the rules (running joints anyone?) this combination sounds wrong on paper but aesthetically it works and we love it!
Design Tip: Being grey, these textured cobbles off-set beautifully against lead or pewter coloured planters. Go with a variety of planter heights to add scale, drama and interest to courtyard or patio container gardens.

| Installation Points | Cobbles & Setts can be laid directly onto an MOT type 1 external base or similar or onto a concrete/screed base. If installing onto MOT then a wet sand & cement mortar mix can be used with the addition of SBR. If installing onto concrete/screed a good quality external grade tile adhesive can be used. We recommend using a slurry primer (aka Bond bridges or bond coats) to improve adhesion of the cobbles to the mortar bed. |
