Provence Ancient Cobbles

A wonderful clotted-cream coloured limestone, Provence is one of our most popular stones, whether its for indoor or outdoor use. A departure from traditionally coloured sandy beige limestone, the warm pale colours of Provence are more reminiscent of southern European stone.

These Provence Ancient cobbles are deliberately worked to create a very heavy rustic look, targeting those that want a real old, cobbled look in their scheme. Broken, bashed & distressed, each cobble is distinctly craggy, irregular & rocky. Mimicking years of footfall, weathering and general garden bashing, these are deeply rustic cobbles that will help to create the most bucolic landscape.

Provence’s light cream & pale straw tones form the perfect backdrop to a dense fossil & shell content, these combine to form a light, bright stone perfect for outside spaces. Forget dull cement setts & blocks, lighten & brighten your garden scheme with the life & zest of real limestone.

Provence limestone cobbles come in 10cm wide blocks of mixed lengths and are 5cm thick. As the production processes really beat up the stone, these dimensions vary, a lot! This just adds even more historic rustic charm to this heavily antiqued cobble.

PRICES ARE PER SQM EXCLUDING DELIVERY. We operate a minimum order quantity of 6sqm on this 5cm thick cobble.

PLEASE NOTE: Cut samples are not available for this product, you do have the option of purchasing a full cobble sample, charged at £5inc P&P. This £5 will be credited against any future order of Provence Outdoor Cobbles.

Also available are our Provence external finish step treads & coping stones. Steps are 115cm long x 35cm deep x 5cm thick with the front edge finished with a bullnose profile whilst coping stones are 100cm x 35cm x 4cm finished with a bullnose profile on both long sides and drip grooves on the underside. Ancient Cobbles	Heavily aged edges & heavily textured, external grade surface. Our Provence Cobbles are 10cm wide by mixed lengths and are 5cm thick (100mm x ML x 50mm).
Technical
Suitability	Outdoors paving, patios and pathways
Installation Points	Cobbles & Setts can be laid directly onto an MOT type 1 external base or similar or onto a concrete/screed base. If installing onto MOT then a wet sand & cement mortar mix can be used with the addition of SBR. NB: white Portland cement must be used in place of standard grey cement. If installing onto concrete/screed a good quality external grade white tile adhesive can be used. We recommend using a slurry primer (aka Bond bridges or bond coats) to improve adhesion of the cobbles to the mortar bed.
