This stunning chequerboard floor is created from combining pale Egyptian limestone with a deep blue-black marble from Turkey. Each stone is sympathetically aged by gently tumbling every tile which softens the edges and delicately texturizes the surface producing a light worn aesthetic mimicking years of footfall and use. Once the sole prerogative of the rich in Georgian architectural design, chequer floors were used to create a sense of balance and symmetry in entrance halls, staircases, and kitchens. Unlike later chequerboard stone floors, the Georgians preferred subtle, muted colours instead of those with a high tonal contrast and this subtlety is superbly reproduced here in our Richmond Square floor.

How to order? Richmond Square is sold per 12 tile set (1.08sqm) made up of an equal number of the 2 coloured tiles – i.e. 6 each. You can either order by area (sqm) or by set. If you order by area your order will be rounded up to the nearest whole set.
